Royal Dutch Gazelle. Royal Dutch Gazelle employs around 350 people at its factory in Dieren, the Netherlands. Quality has been at the forefront since our founding in 1892. In 1996, Gazelle’s production process was certified to the ISO-9001 standard. We are proud of our “Royal” title, which was awarded to us by Princess Margriet in honour.
After the acquisition, Humpty Dumpty potato chip products were rebranded as Old Dutch potato chips. Old Dutch Foods kept the Humpty Dumpty label, and still sells all their flavors of chips in the USA. In Canada, the snack line, and not the potato chip line, appears under the Humpty Dumpty label.
The Old Dutch name was born out of a long tradition rooted in Holland, whose residents were renowned for their preoccupation with immaculate cleanliness. That is why all the products in the Old Dutch family bear a label picturing a little Dutch lady brandishing a stick to drive away dust and dirt.
Of all the ketchup chips we've tried on our various trips to Canada, Old Dutch is the best. The small bags are great for helping to ration out the supply.
Quality Lives Here. Since 1934 we’ve delivered the finest snacks, fresh from the heart of the Upper Midwest. We make them close by so they’re guaranteed fresh.
However, while Old Dutch is an American company, their success story truly began in Canada began when they opened a Canadian arm called Old Dutch Snack Foods, as a distribution center in Winnipeg in 1954, where they would maintain their head offices. In 1958 the first Chips Production Plant was opened on Sargent Avenue.
