The hands are compared according to a predetermined ranking system. Below, we shall evaluate probabilities of several hand combinations. Poker uses the standard deck of 52 cards.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Example: A-Q-J-10-8 is a double belly buster because a King would complete the inside straight A-K-Q-J-10 and a 9 would complete the inside straight Q-J-10-9-8. This hand is only possible in games where there are at least six cards used, as the term is not used to describe such a hand when there are no remaining cards to be drawn.
The Straight is the fifth highest of all poker hands, and it consists of 5 cards, like Jh-10s-9d-8c-7h, all in sequential order but not all in the same suit.
Player 1 is sitting to the left of the dealer and posts the small blind (1 chip). Player 2 is sitting on his left and posts the big blind (2 chips). With the blinds posted it is Player 3's turn to bet first. He has a couple of high cards, which could be good for a high pair.
An example for the elaborateness of a well-thought-out poker strategy is the complexity of a decision in a single poker hand, which is reflected in the multitude of factors to be considered, such as the number of opponents, position at the table, opponents' playing styles and their perception of the player's own playing style, previous actions, pot size, stack size and some other circumstances.
